Welcoming the Whimsy: My Pop-Up at Night & Day Festival 2025

This year marked my second time trading at the Night and Day Festival, set in the beautiful grounds of Lough Key Forest Park, Boyle, County Rosscommon and I really wanted to take everything I learned from last year and build something more immersive.

Something that felt like stepping into my world.

Building the Space

I brought two gazebos with me this time and cable-tied them together to create one larger, unified stall.

In the weeks leading up to the festival, I spent time spray painting lace designs onto the roof and sides, customising the space so it felt visually aligned with my work and current branding.

It was a bit of a labour of love, but I really loved how it all came together.

Little video vlog, spray painting the gazebo in the Great Hall at MyfanwyNia’s Studio.

With new signage, custom bunting and soft festoon style fairy lights throughout, the whole space, it began to feel less like a stall and more like a little world of its own, somewhere between a shop and an installation.

Inside the Stall

I divided the space into two distinct sections.

One side was anchored by my large print stand, displaying my work alongside a series of oversized art blankets, almost like colourful wall hangings featuring my characters. Seeing them all together like that gave the space a strong visual presence, almost like stepping into a living gallery.

Alongside these, I brought a full range of my work:

A new line of hoodies I had been developing ahead of the festival, made using quality cotton-blend garments and rebranded with my artwork and custom labels

Art print T-shirts and camisole tops

Art print water bottles, tote bags and purses

Stickers, cards and smaller pieces

And of course, my original paintings and my handmade art print jewellery.

Even though originals don’t often sell at markets, I always bring them. I love what they bring to the space, there’s something grounding about having the original works there, like quiet anchors behind everything else. They hold the energy of the process, the beginning of it all. Here is a little video with some clips from my stall over the weekend:

Moments Beyond the Stall

One of the most special parts of the weekend was simply being there.

Camping out at the festival with my husband and our youngest son made the whole experience feel like a little world away from everyday life. Friends joined us too, which added another layer of fun, those in-between moments, wandering, chatting, sharing food, music drifting through the trees.

I even got to see The Wailers live, which was a real highlight.

And there’s something really lovely about trading alongside other artists and makers I’ve met over the years, people from the local craft and art market scene. Festivals like this give you the chance to spend time together in a different way, not just setting up and packing down, but actually sharing the experience.

A Space That Felt Like Home

More than anything, this year felt like a step forward.

Not just in how the stall looked, but in how it felt, cohesive, expressive and true to the world I’m building through my work.

And then, of course, there were all of you who stopped by, bringing the space to life in the most meaningful way.

Thank You 💜✨

A massive thank you to everyone who visited the stall, had a chat, picked up a piece, or simply spent a moment there.

It was really special to see people wearing pieces they had just picked up earlier in the day, already being enjoyed and becoming part of the festival.

I’m so grateful for the support, the conversations and the connection.

Until Next Time 💜✨

I already know I’ll be dreaming up new ways to build on this for next year!

But for now, thank you all for being part of it.

Photos taken and shared with appreciation for everyone who stepped into the space 💜✨
