In January 2027, MyfanwyNia's Studio will make its debut at Showcase Ireland, one of Ireland's leading international trade events for Irish design and craft, at the RDS Dublin.

Selected through Local Enterprise Office Leitrim, I'll be exhibiting in the Local Enterprise Showcase, representing a creative business grown from my studio in the Iron Mountains of County Leitrim.

For three days, I'll be transforming Stand L69 into a little piece of the MyfanwyNia’s whimsical world, filled with illustration, storytelling, colour, folklore.

A new chapter for MyfanwyNia

Showcase marks something quite significant for me. MyfanwyNia has grown over the years from my work as an artist and illustrator into a much wider creative practice, encompassing original artwork, murals, handmade jewellery, prints, paper goods, clothing and illustrated gifts.

Now I'm bringing those different strands together into a more cohesive collection and taking MyfanwyNia into wholesale for the first time.

The work still begins in exactly the same place it always has, with my drawings, paintings, characters and stories. The difference is that I'm now developing those ideas into collections designed to live across artwork and beautifully made objects, creating a world that independent shops, galleries and their customers can discover piece by piece.

New collections for 2027

Showcase will also see the introduction of new illustrated collections from MyfanwyNia, including The Witches' Garden, my strange and cosy world of witches, cats, magic and nostalgia, alongside a new body of work inspired by the folklore, landscape and imagined inhabitants of the Irish bog.

These illustrations will make their way across art prints, cards, jewellery, accessories and other small treasures, with new pieces continuing to emerge as I prepare for January.

I'll be sharing that process here and across my social media over the coming months, from the original artwork and product development to building the stand itself.

Building Stand L69

I'm also creating the Showcase stand as an extension of the MyfanwyNia visual world.

Rather than treating it simply as a retail display, I'm designing a tiny temporary shop filled with the colours and textures that have gradually become part of the brand, soft teal, warm brown, gingham, lace, illustrated characters and original artwork.

And yes, I'm building quite a lot of it myself!
