Live Painting at Forest Fest 2024: The Forest’s Edge
I had an amazing weekend painting live at The Forest’s Edge during Forest Fest in Emo, alongside the Port Art Collective.
A huge thank you to ADW Artist and Sinéad for the invitation and having me back for a second year, it was such a special experience to be part of it again🌟💗
What I really loved about this experience was the balance of it, being there to work, but also getting to fully experience the festival at the same time. I brought my family with me and my son had the best time, there was a funfair and lots of kids to meet and play with. Between that, meeting so many lovely people, chatting throughout the day and then drifting into the music in the evenings, it felt like being part of something much bigger than just the painting.
Lots of love to my husband Iliocht as well, who supported me throughout the weekend, it always makes these kinds of events feel even more special having that shared experience.
My piece took on a soft, candy-coloured feel, a dreamy fairy in pastel tones, with lilac wings in her hair. I worked with chocolate brown linework to ground the palette, which gave it that sweet, slightly nostalgic feel.
Around her, a playful world began to build, toy-town houses, little animal companions, candyfloss clouds, bubbles and a hot air balloon drifting through. The bubbles were inspired by the bubble man entertaining the kids all weekend at The Forest’s Edge, which felt like such a perfect reflection of the atmosphere, light, joyful and full of wonder.
ADW, DMC, MYFANWYNIA, ESTR, PENS
It was such a pleasure painting alongside ADW Artist, DMC, ESTR and Pens Dublin. I always learn so much just from being around other artists — seeing different approaches, techniques and styles come together in one space.
A really memorable weekend, full of colour, music and connection 💜✨
