✦ Artist’s Note
“Something about the harlequin pattern has always fascinated me. It conjures up bohemian caravans and travelling carnivals - the call of the unknown, the soft glow of lantern lights in the distance, the romance and risk of running away with the circus.
I later learned that those diamond shapes trace their origins to the commedia dell’arte of 16th-century Italy, where the Harlequin stood as a symbol of transformation - the fool, the trickster, the dreamer, carrying both humour and melancholy. In the 19th century, the motif found new life in pantomime and circus costume, often adorned with celestial details, stars, moons and night skies as symbols of imagination’s stage.
Harlequin Mermaiden carries that same spirit for me: the courage of the first step, the wobble before mastery, the beauty of trying anyway. Her little starfish companions, are living constellation, continue that theme, awkward, endearing, learning with her, helping her shine.
Seeing her artwork transformed into a soft, cosy blanket feels especially fitting. I often use this piece as a table dressing at festivals and events when I want to create a warm, magical atmosphere. It turns any space - whether a stall, a sofa or a quiet reading corner into a little world of whimsy. I hope it brings you that same sense of story and wonder in your own space, too.”

Your dress is fulfilled at the production facility closest to your location whenever possible to avoid additional import charges (EU orders are produced in the EU; US and international orders are produced in North America). This also helps reduce shipping distance and environmental impact.
Shipping times vary depending on region, but most orders arrive within:
EU: 5–10 business days
USA/Canada: 5–10 business days
UK: 7–12 business days
Rest of World: 10–20 business days
If you order from outside the EU or USA, your order may cross international borders then customs or import fees may apply, depending on your country’s regulations. These charges are collected by your local postal service or customs office.

Sustainability Note: As with most synthetic fabrics, this item may release microfibres during washing. Washing on cold and using a microfibre-catching laundry bag can reduce this.
