✦ Cat Like Me

In Japanese folklore, it is said that a cat who live long enough can become Yōkai, supernatural beings with a gift for magic and a special kind of mischief. The Bakeneko learns to walk upright on two paws and take human form. The Nekomata, older and wiser still, grows a second tail and speaks with eerie knowing.

She might be one of them.

Or something rarer still, part girl, part feline trickster, born between worlds.

She moves like a memory you’re trying to hold onto, the kind that changes shape every time you think about it, or every time you see her.

The white cats arrived with her, before I even understood who she was. They appeared naturally in the earliest pencil sketch, gathering around her as if summoned by her very presence.

They're not pets. They’re drawn to her, pulled in by a quiet magnetism. Companions, maybe. Or students, hoping to understand how she shifts, how she softens and sharpens at will. Watching closely, trying to understand how she is a “Cat Like Me.”

To watch her is to feel that shape and form are never fixed. That maybe you, too, could change. She intentionally knocks things off shelves just to see how they fall, disturbing the stillness, snapping you out of the mindless trance her presence seems to evoke and reminding you that wonder sometimes arrives disguised as disruption.

“Cat Like Me has always felt like an encounter - a little spirit of her own, but seeing her printed on this blanket gave the piece an entirely new presence. Fabric changes artwork in such fascinating ways, the linework softens into the fibres and the velvety surface gives everything a gentle haze.

I love the idea of blankets as art objects; they become part of the atmosphere of a room. Hung on a wall, this one feels like a soft, cosy mural a little Yōkai-inspired companion watching over the space with her bright, knowing eyes.

Your dress is fulfilled at the production facility closest to your location whenever possible to avoid additional import charges (EU orders are produced in the EU; US and international orders are produced in North America). This also helps reduce shipping distance and environmental impact.

Shipping times vary depending on region, but most orders arrive within:

  • USA/Canada: 5–10 business days

  • UK: 7–12 business days

  • Rest of World: 10–20 business days
