Step into The Witches’ Garden, where two feline friends wander together through the quiet twilight, their path lit by a pale full moon. The crisp air stirs with the sound of autumn leaves, as a tortoiseshell companion pads close beside them a small familiar - keeper of secrets, whisperer of spells. Now, this moonlit scene has been transformed into a beautiful woven jacquard blanket, crafted from 100% soft cotton yarns on a state-of-the-art digital loom. Every hue, from warm ochres to dusky mauves is formed through interlacing coloured threads. The design is created using a six-yarn system (red, blue, green, gold, white, and black), combined in varying proportions to produce over 190 subtle tones to translate the original watercolour painting into a richly textured surface with the tactile quality of a tapestry.

These witches carry cat-like personalities, the characters are almost Yōkai spirits, guardians of their magical cat-land world, cats with shapeshifting powers, who can walk between worlds in the twitch of a whisker. Seeing the artwork translated into woven cotton feels like the story has found a new form, ready to be passed from hand to hand, gathering warmth with every telling.”

How It’s Made

Jacquard blankets are woven on a specialised loom capable of controlling each thread individually - a modern evolution of the 19th-century Jacquard machine.

Originally, patterns were created with punched cards (an early precursor to computer code). Today, digital looms use that same principle with precision technology - lifting and lowering warp threads to build intricate, textured patterns one line at a time.

 Each blanket is woven especially for you by my professional weaving partner in the United States.
Production takes 3-7 business days, followed by 1-3 weeks for delivery (depending on location and customs clearance).
Made-to-order production is a mindful approach to reducing overproduction and its environmental impact - where each piece is created only when it’s truly wanted. 🌿

Because these are made to order, returns for change of mind aren’t possible - thank you for understanding.
